!!!THIS CAR IS STILL LOCATED IN OUR SHOWROOMS IN USA!!!
Folks in the old car business generally acknowledge that the 1941 Buick is a home-run of a design. Maybe it's because Harley Earl was allowing Buick to nip at Cadillac's heels, or maybe just because the guys building the cars suspected that 1941 might be close to the end for a while with WWII brewing overseas. Whatever the reason, cars like this stunning 1941 Buick Super coupe are some of the best-looking cars of the immediate pre-war era.
GM showed off their all-new torpedo styling in 1940, and it expanded in 1941 to include Buick's Super, which was their second most popular line. The 56S, or Super 6-passenger business coupe, was perhaps the most ideally proportioned, and as this lovely rod shows, it looks fabulous in bright silver livery. The fat-fendered look remains intact, and that long, pointed hood is one of the most dramatic views in all of motoring from behind the wheel. There are few modifications aside from a light de-chroming and molded-in rear fenders, simply because the original design is so hard to improve. Bodywork is excellent, with good gaps and a great finish to the bright silver metallic paint. Details like the bumpers, grille, and hood ornament are in good condition, while stainless items have been polished to a high shine.
Just one glance inside will tell you that the bright red interior is virtually brand new. Brilliantly contrasting with the silver paint, the red interior is a nice tribute to the '40s because it preserves the original seats, window moldings, and even the factory dashboard and instrument panel. In fact, those are original gauges and the factory-issued AM radio remains in the dash. A trio of auxiliary gauges underneath keeps an eye on the 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 under the hood, and a modern tilt column has been fitted and topped with a beautiful wood steering wheel. Fresh carpets, a new headliner, and artfully stitched door panels round out a brilliant interior. Even the trunk is beautifully upholstered with matching carpets and side panels. Nice!
To give this vintage Buick a modern feel on the road, an early Chevy Monte Carlo gave up its entire front clip, which also means this Super now sports power steering and power disc brakes, so it's a pleasure to drive. The 350 CI V8 features the usual upgrades like a Holley carb, an Edelbrock intake, and full dual exhaust that sounds just right. The usual dress-up items like a shiny billet air cleaner and matching valve covers look great when you open the side-mounted hood and it runs extremely well. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic and a 10-bolt rear hanging on leaf springs in place of the Buick's original coils. Polished Torque Thrust wheels fill the big fenders perfectly, and now wear low-profile performance radials.
Dare to be different with a big Buick like this, and you'll never wish for a Chevy again. Call today!
