The MGB is a sports car launched by MG Cars in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coup? with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. The six-cylinder MGC debuted in 1967; a later derivative fitted with the Buick-based Rover V8 was made from 1973 to 1976. A total of 399,000 cars were produced from 1962-1980.
Interior & Equipment
Beautiful fully reupholstered black piped in cream original seats, new black carpets throughout including the boot area and a lovely vynil MG spare wheel cover, all matching and correctly working Jaeger clocks, wooden Mota Lita steering wheel and wooden gear knob, unmarked door cards.
Exterior
The body is in very good solid condition, there are a few minor signs of wear and tear only to be expected but again very honest throughout with no rust or rot. Door gaps are lovely and the boot, bonnet and doors close solidly as they should without any play in their action, flooring is solid and superb. The brightwork is very good all round and not been replaced with cheap aftermarket products. The underside is completely waxoiled throughout to a lovely standard and not coated on like so many you see.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Original painted wires in very good condition, with 2 ear chrome spinners sitting on almost new Dunlop SP7 tyres.
Engine & Transmission
The 1798cc four-cylinder OHV engine starts on the button first time every time and sounds simply stunning through the full stainess steel exhaust. The clutch and rebuilt gear box work effortlessly. The engine and engine bay is fully detailed throughout.
Summary
A lovely Early Pull Handle MGB Roadster
More Details
Very good condition original right hand drive MGB Roadster.
The very low mileage can be confirmed by every past mot going back to 1989.
Having only had 3 former keepers this early pull handle MGB is a very honest example of a car that is getting harder to find.
The car has not been the subject of a nut and bolt restoration but has been very well maintained and has only covered some 14000 miles in 23 years.
Mechanically the car is superb with no leaks or rattles, gear box and clutch are smooth and the engine sounds superb.
The extensive history file has thousands of pounds worth of receipts again dating back to the mid 1980's detailing servicing and sympathetic on going restoration to keep on top of this lovely example we have on offer today.
If your looking for a usable reliable classic car that can be enjoyed as an everyday commuter or kept for those special sunny days out then this one is for you.
