1966 VOLVO 122S AMAZON HISTORIC RALLY CAR.
EX MONTE CARLO. READY FOR ACTION. £6995.
This fantastic historic rally car has been used in many national and international rallies including the famous Monte Carlo Challenge and is a well known car on the rallying scene and winner of many awards and 1st places in the hands of owner Laurence Grainger. It was originally built in 1992 to compete in the 1993 Berlin-Monte Carlo Challenge and succesfully completed both the 1993 and 1996 events and went on to compete in the 1000 mile trial (1st in class), Le Jog 1997, 2 x Rally of the Tests, Hero rally 1993 and many more. The car was restored again in 2000/1 with a full photographic record (on disc). It comes with a FIVA card, MSA HRV id form, is HRCR registered and has a huge history file of receipts (over £20,000) , old MOT's and a book that lists all the preparation done for each rally. Runs on unleaded petrol. Has an MOT till 10-5-2012 so ready to use now.
Engine Bay: 1800 block with 2 litre gas flowed head, Twin SU HS6 carbs, K camshaft, Rare Volvo team 4-2-1 tubular manifold. Power output chart shows 141 BHP @ 5000rpm with 115 BHP at the rear wheels. Twin coils, under bonnet cut out switch, 2 x under bonnet lamps.
Gearbox: Standard box and axle with overdrive on fourth.
Suspension: Uprated springs, Adjustable Spax and lowered, front discs,
Wheels: Standard 15" wheels powder coated and shod with 165 x 15 tyres.
Body: Red with white roof, bumpers aluminium effect powder coated, rear light, cibie front spot lights.
Boot: Rally prepare with ratchet tied wheel and trolly jack.
Interior: Resembles period works car with Rev counter, ammeter, oil pressure gauge, seperate temperature gauge, speedo, 2 x map lights, 2 x interior lights, clock, compass, twin button air horns, power outlet, electric screen washer, rear window heater, fire extinguisher, etc. Moto Lita steering wheel, recaro reclining seats, Luke harness's, original rear seats, stereo system, a brand new Retro Trip recorder and every item and switch labelled.
